Pest Type: Snails
Scientific Name: Pyramidellidae
Treatment: The best way to rid your tank of these snails is to remove the infected clam or starfish and pick off any that you see. Use a toothbrush to scrub the shell of the clam, which will remove any eggs. Sixline and Green Wrasse eat the snails.
Identification: Very small, light-colored, pyramid-shaped snails that feed on clams and starfish
Prevention: Carefully examine, clean, and then quarantine all rock, coral, and macroalgae before placing in the tank.
