Scientific Name: Acanthaster Planci
Treatment: Removal from the tank is straightforward, just be careful – its spines are mildly venomous and may inflict a painful wound if the starfish is picked up with bare hands.
Identification: With long spines covering its body and up to 20 arms, this starfish is easy to identify
Prevention: Crown of Thorns Starfish do not usually show up as hitchhikers, but are bought at LFS.
